Apple is about to unveil its iPhone 17 lineup, and with it several brand new accessories are expected to debut. Joining the standard Apple silicone cases, here’s everything new that rumors say Apple has coming. TechWoven cases TechWoven case mockup via Majin Bu Two years ago, Apple stopped offering leather iPhone cases and instead launched a more eco-friendly option: FineWoven. It didn’t take long before FineWoven started showing durability issues that led to user complaints. Apple was quick to discontinue the line, dropping it after just one year. But now the company is expected to launch its replacement: ‘TechWoven.’ Per Majin Bu, alongside the standard silicone iPhone cases that Apple offers each year, there will be a new TechWoven line with the iPhone 17. My colleague Zac writes: Based on the appearance, Apple’s new material may be based on something like rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate), a textile made from repurposed plastic bottles. Expected colors include black, blue, brown, green, and purple. Bu says the new case will be available for the entire iPhone 17 lineup. Crossbody Strap Crossbody Strap mockup via Majin Bu Majin Bu also says Apple has a new Crossbody Strap accessory launching for the iPhone 17. This accessory will pair with the new Apple-designed cases and offer a convenient new way to wear your iPhone around your body. Per Bu, all new iPhone 17 cases will have lanyard holes at the bottom, and the Crossbody Strap will use magnets to offer a strong, but convenient connection. Smart Battery Case Years ago, Apple offered a Smart Battery Case that became a favorite accessory for many users. It discontinued the case some time ago, but rumors indicate it could be coming back this year. Wayne Ma at The Information reported in May that Apple was developing a new version of the battery case, specifically for its ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air: The percentage of users who can go a single day without recharging the thin phone will be between 60% and 70%. For other models, that metric is between 80% and 90%, one of the people said. To solve this, Apple is developing an optional accessory—a phone case meant for the thin model that also contains a battery pack, according to three people familiar with the matter. It’s always possible Apple will launch new Smart Battery Cases for the full iPhone 17 lineup. But so far, the only rumor about the case centers around the iPhone 17 Air. Wildcard: Bumper case This accessory seems less certain than the others mentioned above, but according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple might have yet another special case coming for the iPhone 17 Air. I believe Apple has at least considered/tested a new case for the slimmer iPhone this year that surrounds the edges but doesn’t cover the back. It’s a similar concept to the iPhone 4 Bumpers from 2010. https://t.co/6HYKmUUKSP pic.twitter.com/VzQGTFlOIg — Mark Gurman (@markgurman) August 24, 2025 A bumper case could in theory allow iPhone 17 Air users to still benefit from the device’s ultra-thin design while ensuring some level of protection.
