While Interview With the Vampire fans will have to wait until 2026 to pick back up with that series—retitled The Vampire Lestat for its rock n’ roll-infused third season—Anne Rice’s world expands in just a few weeks with Talamasca: The Secret Order. AMC has just shared a full trailer after that teaser in July, and it teases supernatural secrets, psychic menace, and danger-filled dark rooms. Talamasca runs just six episodes, but AMC is calling it a “first season,” so make of that what you will. And it won’t just be focusing on vampires; the Talamasca keeps tabs on them, of course, but also witches and “other creatures” worldwide. In addition to Justin Kirk and Eric Bogosian, who cross over as their Interview With the Vampire characters, Talamasca has a juicy guest star in Jason Schwartzman. The rest of the cast includes Nicholas Denton, Elizabeth McGovern, William Fichtner (merrily devouring the scenery in the above trailer), Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Celine Buckens. Here’s AMC’s full description of the series: “Denton stars as Guy Anatole; on the cusp of graduating law school, he is approached by a representative of the Talamasca, a secretive agency that monitors and protects us from the supernatural world. When Guy learns that the Talamasca has been tracking him since his childhood, he falls headlong into a world of secret agents and immortal beings who, up to now, have maintained a fragile balance with the mortal world. McGovern portrays Helen, a seasoned veteran of the Talamasca, and the leader of its New York Motherhouse; Fichtner plays Jasper, a mysterious American who has quietly assumed control and influence over the Talamasca’s London Motherhouse; Richardson-Sellers plays Olive, a beguiling and ambitious agent of the Talamasca; Buckens stars as Doris, strong-willed and with an old soul, she lives with a coven of witches on a houseboat; while Schwartzman portrays Burton, a charming, rakish vampire, leading a cloistered life in a luxurious Upper West Side penthouse, Bogosian plays Daniel Molloy, and Kirk is Talamasca agent Raglan James.” Daniel Molloy’s book gets a mention in the trailer, but since it doesn’t make an appearance, here’s a first-look photo of the author and his creation that AMC also released today: Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order premieres October 26 on AMC and AMC+.
