Apple is just days away from unveiling its full iPhone 17 lineup, and a new Bloomberg report offers a great last-minute overview at the new camera features coming with iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. iPhone 17 Pro cameras: Here’s what’s new Every year, Apple releases new iPhones. And for users considering an upgrade, one of the most important details tends to be camera improvements. Today Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman published a preview of what to expect from Apple’s September 9 event. In the post, he outlined five ways the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max cameras will improve. The five camera features mentioned include: Video recording will get “major enhancements” Telephoto lens upgraded to 48MP, up from 12MP Variable aperture system Multi-cam simultaneous video recording Selfie camera’s “biggest-ever upgrade” These details are largely in line with what’s been reported previously, though with some new tidbits and corroboration of features that previously seemed uncertain. Gurman highlights video recording’s “major enhancements” as the first detail in his article. The only specific he shares is simultaneous front-and-back camera recording, which I suspect is just a small part of the story. A new variable aperture camera system is intriguing too. Previously, Ming Chi-Kuo reported that was coming with next year’s iPhone 18. We’ll have to wait until Tuesday to learn the details, but this could prove one of the biggest new camera features this year. Which iPhone 17 Pro camera features are you most excited about?
