Apple’s big iPhone 17 launch event is now just hours away. A last-minute leak indicates at least one new product unveiled today—AirPods Pro 3—will be available for purchase immediately after the event ends.
Best Buy is notifying members of AirPods Pro 3 availability starting today
AirPods Pro 3 are expected to be one of the highlights of Apple’s ‘Awe dropping’ event today, with a packed array of new features rumored.
But a leak shared on Reddit seems to point to the new product being available slightly sooner than expected.
Often with big hardware events like today’s, Apple will only put minor accessories like iPhone cases on sale immediately. Everything else announced—such as new iPhones and Apple Watches—tends to go up for pre-order later that week.
According to an email sent from Best Buy to ‘My Best Buy’ members, however, AirPods Pro 3 are expected to go on sale today, September 9.
When AirPods Pro 2 debuted in 2022, Apple opted not to put the product on sale immediately. Rather, it became available for pre-order later in the week alongside the iPhone.
However, last year when AirPods 4 and new AirPods Max were announced, those products were available to order right away. They still didn’t ship until the following week though.
It sounds like Apple will follow this same pattern today. AirPods Pro 3 will likely be available to order right after the Apple Store goes back online, but with a shipping date next week.
