Apple’s flagship iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are here, and the Pro Max includes a 2TB storage option for the first time ever. Before you start celebrating though, be sure to check the price tag.
Highest iPhone 17 Pro Max storage tier will cost you
Ahead of today’s ‘Awe dropping’ event, rumors about iPhone 17 price increases were rampant.
It turns out, Apple did raise some prices, but they’re arguably not strict “increases.”
For example, iPhone 17 Pro now starts at $1,099, up from $999 last year.
However, it also comes with 256GB of storage, dropping the 128GB option. So for comparable storage options, the 17 Pro and 16 Pro are the same price.
iPhone Air debuted at $999, which is up from the $899 starting price of the iPhone Plus model. But since it’s not a Plus model, and has more in common with Apple’s Pro line, I’d say it’s not fair to call that a price hike.
If you want an excuse to get flustered by iPhone pricing, though, you might want to look at the highest storage tier for iPhone 17 Pro Max.
iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at 256GB for $1,199—just like last year’s 16 Pro Max.
But there’s now a new high-end storage tier of 2TB.
And per Apple’s website, that 2TB Pro Max model costs $1,999.
That’s right: $2,000 for the best possible iPhone 17 Pro Max.
It’s up from the $1,599 price tag for the next largest storage tier of 1TB.
We were generally expecting the first $2,000 model to be next year’s iPhone Fold, but it seems Apple got a little ahead of the game with hitting new price limits.
