At this point, it is not exactly a surprise, but it is still noteworthy: If you’re buying the new AirPods Pro 3, make sure you have a USB-C charging cable or a wireless charger handy. Here are the details. Bring your own USB-C cable or wireless charger As Apple succinctly explains on the AirPods Pro 3 tech specs page: “USB‑C Charge Cable sold separately.“ While many users have more than enough charging alternatives at home, at work, and even in their cars, some might still be caught by surprise and may have to shell out a few extra dollars to be able to recharge their AirPods Pro 3 case. Apple has increasingly stopped shipping cables and power bricks with new products, and the AirPods Pro 3 are the latest product to join that list. Apple says the move is for environmental reasons, and that may be true. Still, the company is often sued over the change and, in some cases, is required by courts to give customers a cable or power brick at no cost.
