Apple TV+ is expected to win big at the Emmy’s this weekend, and ahead of the awards show, Reuters has published fresh quotes from many different Apple TV+ stars and creative talent about what it’s like working with Apple. Here’s what they said.
Apple is not the ‘corporate overlord’ that some creatives expected
Today at Reuters, Lisa Richwine and Dawn Chmielewski published a variety of quotes from stars and creators who have experience working on Apple TV+ shows and movies.
Here’s a selection of (highly positive) celebrity feedback:
Seth Rogen , star of The Studio and Platonic: “I was really worried that maybe they’d be restrictive. And then there’s a scene in ‘Platonic’ where we snort cocaine and ketamine off of an iPhone…They were not as corporate overlord-y as maybe I was worried they were going to be.”

But right from the beginning there was trust, like these guys can pull this off.”

But right from the beginning there was trust, like these guys can pull this off.” Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of F1 The Movie: “They realized that the value of doing it in a very accurate way would be the best way to present this movie as something from Apple. It’s really well designed and beautifully done.”
Additionally, Jessica Chastain told Reuters that working with Apple was so positive, she now has two more projects in the works at Apple TV+.
The story also contains praise from Vince Gilligan, creator of Apple’s mysterious Pluribus show that arrives in November:
“Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan said he took his coming sci-fi series, “Pluribus,” to Apple TV+ in part because they made “a very generous offer” among multiple bidders. Gilligan said other factors counted more than the dollar figure, which he declined to disclose. A major plus, he said, was the opportunity to reunite with Erlicht and Van Amburg, who led Sony Pictures Television when it produced “Breaking Bad” and spin-off “Better Call Saul.” He lauded Apple for supporting an ambitious show.
Before Apple TV+ officially launched in 2019, rumors indicated Apple executives were being extremely hands-on, micro-managing and censoring its various TV shows in production. That claim has since been repeatedly shot down, with today’s quotes being the latest evidence.
Apple TV+ is available for $12.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Morning Show, Silo, and Shrinking.
