At last, we have a release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The latest adventure for Samus Aran will drop on December 4 for Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch.
During its hour-long Nintendo Direct Thursday, Nintendo showed a new trailer for Retro Studio’s next game, which will see the hero don a new suit of armor to explore the new planet Viewros in ways only she can.
Helping her out is a brand-new motorcycle dubbed “Viola” that gets her around the world fast, do some vehicle combat, and powerslide to her heart’s content. Viola is the latest addition to Samus’ arsenal, which also includes new psychic powers to guide shots and perform other feats.
Before Metroid Prime 4 releases, Nintendo plans to publish a visual retrospective book covering the first three Metroid Prime games. Launching on October 29, the book will feature concept art from the original trilogy and the first Prime’s recent remaster. Notes from Nintendo producer Kensuke Tanabe and introductions to each game round out the package, promising a fascinating look back through the first-person series.
Last but not least, Nintendo is releasing three amiibos for Metroid Prime 4: The first and second respectively feature Samus in her regular armor and then in her new armor (whilst riding Viola), and the third is of the game’s lead villain, Sylux. The Samus’ ones will release on November 6, while Sylux’s comes out on December 4—the same day as the game.
