Calm is launching a new standalone app for more personalized sleep support, the company announced on Tuesday. The new Calm Sleep app is available on iOS and is designed to help people wind down, sleep better, and wake up refreshed, Calm says. The app features Calm’s content with new features designed to help users reach their sleep goals. Calm Sleep starts by getting people to complete a short onboarding questionnaire. The app then creates a personalized sleep plan, including recommended content and daily tasks designed to improve sleep, focusing on areas such as digital hygiene, exercise, stress reduction, and sleep environment. Calm Sleep features a “sleep readiness” bar that increases as users complete tasks throughout the day. The company says this bar offers a visual cue to help users build better habits. The app also syncs with wearables through Apple HealthKit, allowing users to take action on their sleep data. At launch, Calm Sleep will feature new Sleep Stories from radio host Delilah and actor Andrew Scott, alongside an existing library of over 300 hours of sleep content and 500 Sleep Stories. Calm notes that all new sleep content will have four weeks of exclusive availability on Calm Sleep before being released on Calm. Since then, Sleep Stories have been played more than 1 billion times, Calm says. “Calm is a global leader in sleep, with more than half our users already turning to us for rest and some of the most widely used content and tools on the market,” said Jon Tien, Chief Product Officer at Calm, in a press release. “Now with Calm Sleep, we’re introducing a product built entirely around the sleep experience, from daytime habits to nighttime routines. We’re helping people feel more empowered in their sleep journey, not just more informed about it, bringing back a sense of ease and joy to bedtime.” Techcrunch event Join 10k+ tech and VC leaders for growth and connections at Disrupt 2025 Netflix, Box, a16z, ElevenLabs, Wayve, Sequoia Capital, Elad Gil — just some of the 250+ heavy hitters leading 200+ sessions designed to deliver the insights that fuel startup growth and sharpen your edge.
