iOS 26.1 beta 1 debuted today, and offers big expansions of AirPods Live Translation and Apple Intelligence thanks to new supported languages. Here are the details. iOS 26.1 adds five new AirPods Live Translation languages, eight for Apple Intelligence Last week when iOS 26 and AirPods Pro 3 launched to the public, Apple mentioned that new supported languages would be coming soon for Apple Intelligence and AirPods Live Translation. In this case, “soon” really did mean quite soon. iOS 26.1 beta 1 expands the supported languages on both fronts. With AirPods Live Translation, iOS 26.1 now supports: Chinese (Mandarin, simplified) Chinese (Mandarin, traditional) Italian Japanese Korean These join the existing supported languages of English (US and UK), French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish (Spain). Additionally, the broader Apple Intelligence feature set is coming to a lot more languages too. iOS 26.1 brings Apple Intelligence support for eight new languages: Chinese (traditional) Danish Dutch Norwegian Portuguese (Portugal) Swedish Turkish Vietnamese So far, we haven’t discovered any brand new Apple Intelligence features in iOS 26.1 beta 1 besides new languages, but we’ll keep you posted on anything we find. Regardless, these language expansions are a great step forward for users around the world who haven’t yet been able to use Apple Intelligence in their native language.
