ABC reality dating show for seniors, The Golden Bachelor, is back with a sporty silver fox taking center stage for season 2.
The sophomore season of the Bachelor spinoff introduces Mel Owens, a former NFL star turned attorney, who will lead a cast of women in their sixties and seventies through dates, rose ceremonies and heartfelt conversations in the franchise's familiar search for lasting love.
The 66-year-old father of two sons has been a divorcé for 25 years. Since retiring from the football field, Owens has gone on to become a successful sports injury lawyer.
He may have already fumbled his shot at love, though -- the former Los Angeles Rams linebacker has faced significant backlash even before the new season premieres, after controversially saying he would "cut" any contestant aged 60 or over. Owens has since walked back that comment, perhaps in part because all but one of the 23 female contestants for this season are older than his stated cutoff.
Are you wondering how it will all play out? We're sharing the details of when to tune in for the newest season of the series.
When to watch The Golden Bachelor season 2 premiere
Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 24 on ABC at 8 ET/PT with a two-hour episode that's set to feature the contestants' limousine arrivals along with Owens' first group date. New episodes will air weekly in the same time slot. Cord-cutters can stream the episodes on Hulu the following day after they're broadcast on ABC.
