Find My accessories have changed how I keep track of pretty much everything. I have purchased countless AirTags in order to stay integrated in the Find My app, but the AirTag form factor is limiting and gets expensive. Suppose you want to put your AirTag on your keys. In that case, you need to buy an additional accessory, or if you want to track a bag, you ironically lose the AirTag at the bottom of your bag, and then the battery needs to be physically replaced every time you are low on charge. So Journey saw this and has taken a more innovative approach with its new LOC8 Universal collection, embedding Find My technology directly into everyday essentials like a laptop sleeve, key organizer, and compact fob. Here is what you should know.
This one might be my favorite, the look, feel, premium aesthetic, and, of course, the tracking tech has been as advertised. It’s a sleek laptop sleeve with Find My and Google Find Hub tracking built right in. Here are the specs:
Universal tracking: Works with Find My & Google’s Find My version
Military-grade shock absorption with PU leather exterior
Microfiber lining to protect your laptop (or iPad)
Doubles as a mousepad
Up to 10 months per charge, USB-C rechargeable, LED charging indicator
Comes in a 14-inch and 16-inch version
These are primarily made for laptops, but if you are an iPad user like me, you can also fit your iPad in here. I could snugly fit my 13-inch M4 iPad Pro into the 14-inch version of the laptop sleeve. The setup and connection process was dead simple. Just turn it on, add an item in the Find My app, and the app will recognize the device. One last piece that stood out is how they integrated the LOC8 tech into the magnetic flap of the sleeve. I thought that was genius.
The LOC8 laptop sleeve is currently available for $119 (for the 14in) and $129 (for the 16in)
Your keys are probably the most lost or misplaced item you carry with you. I’ve left my keys in some of the strangest spots, like my fridge, the trunk of my car, in the wash, and so many other places. Regular keychains also tend to rattle a ton just because its metal clanking on each other. The new LOC8 Urban Key Organizer fixes all of that. Here are the specs:
Works with Apple Find My & Google Find Hub
Holds up to six keys in a compact, silent stack
Brings a quick flip multitool (bottle opener & cardboard cutter)
Up to 4 months per charge, USB-C rechargeable
Hand-adjustable thumb-screw (no tools needed)
Comes in two leather colors: Black or brown
A few key (no pun intended) things stood out to me. First, it’s made of premium leather, so it gives you that beautiful smell that leather brings. There is also a ton of just nice quality of life features. For example, you can fit up to six keys. Usually, that means if you only have one or two keys, it won’t fit well. But I had just two keys in here most of the time, and it still felt snug and sturdy as if it were a full six keys. Also, the built-in multi-tool has already come in handy more times than I expected, and I LOVE that you do not need any tools to loosen or tighten the key organizer. Then, of course, if I misplace the keys, I can now easily find them and ping them from my app.
The LOC8 Urban Key Organizer is available for $109 and comes in two colors.
Think of this as the most universal and flexible option. The Finder Fob 2 attaches to almost anything: bags, luggage, gear, even a normal keychain (if you still have it). Here are the specs:
Works with Apple Find My & Google Find Hub
IP66 water and dust resistance
Loud 90 dB built-in speaker
Up to 5–6 months per charge, USB-C rechargeable
Lanyard loop
Weighs just 12 grams
This is the most straightforward tracker. It is a well-built tracker that is made to clip on to anything. They basically took the AirTag and made it better. It’s rechargeable, feels more rugged, as a clip/landyard loop is built in, and it’s the same weight as an AirTag. From the images I saw before receiving the tracker, I thought it would be bigger and heavier. But it’s small, fits anywhere, and is extremely lightweight!
The LOC8 Finder Fob 2 is avaialble for $29 and comes in two colors: black and white.
