Sc Remember last year when an unboxing video of the M4 MacBook Pro leaked before it was even announced? Well, it’s happened again. This time, Russian YouTuber Wylsacom — the same channel that leaked the MacBook Pro — is back with an unboxing of the unannounced M5 iPad Pro. This also provides us with our first look at benchmark results from the unannounced M5 chip. As expected, the M5 iPad Pro is almost identical to the M4 model in terms of design. It features the same ultra-thin chassis with a single camera on the back. One thing that’s unclear is whether there are two front-facing cameras, something that Bloomberg reported was in development for the M5 iPad Pro update. As for what to expect from the M5 chip, benchmark results in the video show that it has a 9-core CPU, the same as the M4 iPad Pro. In Geekbench testing, the M5 iPad Pro is around 10% faster in single-core performance and 15% faster in multi-core performance. The iPad Pro in the video is a 256GB model and apparently features 12GB of RAM. Currently, the 256GB and 512GB models of the M4 iPad Pro have 8GB of RAM, while the 1TB and 2TB configurations have 16GB of RAM. This leak seems to indicate that the 256GB/512GB M5 iPad Pro models will have more RAM this year. There’s not much else to take away from this video. The iPad Pro is running iPadOS 26.0 instead of iPadOS 26.0.1, there’s no “iPad Pro” branding on the back, and the box is a bit slimmer than before. Apple is expected to announce the M5 iPad Pro sometime in October. Watch the full video below. It’s in Russian, but you can enable translated captions on YouTube to follow along. Perhaps more interesting than the video itself is the fact that this YouTuber has now somehow obtained unreleased Apple products two years in a row. It’s even weirder when you remember Apple doesn’t sell its products in Russia. (via Mark Gurman)
