Browser maker Opera announced today that the first stable release of its agentic browser Neon is starting to reach users, with more invitations coming soon.
Unlike the company's flagship browser, Neon isn't free; the subscription cost will be $19.90/month.

Opera Neon was first announced back in May, but there were very few specifics about how it would work. That changes as of today. For example, Opera Neon comes with a feature called Tasks, a new method of organizing and working with multiple websites, documents, AI chats, and traditional searches. These tasks are self-contained workspaces, capable of understanding context to help analyze, compare, and act on or with multiple sources. While helping you within a context, Opera Neon does not access information from everything else.
There's also the new Cards feature that enables reusable prompt instructions; it's like having your favorite AI behaviors ready to be use. For instance, you could add "pull-details + comparison-table cards" to a prompt. These make capturing only what matters even easier.
Opera Neon is also capable of acting on our behalf, thanks to a feature called Neon Do, which can open new tabs, close open tabs, and perform actions across tabs -- while working within a specific context. Neon Do navigates the web on your behalf to check multiple sites, compare information, fill out forms, gather data from pages in your Tasks, and more. When an action requires user input, Neon Do pauses and waits for you to act.

According to Krystian Kolondra, EVP Browser at Opera, "We built Opera Neon for ourselves -- and for everyone who uses AI extensively in their day-to-day. Today, we're welcoming the first users who will help shape the future of agentic browsing with us."
