Does your cup of coffee feel like it gets pricier every time you order it?
You're not a alone. ZDNET's senior AI reporter Sabrina Ortiz also started wondering whether she'd ever achieve the same hand-crafted coffee shop taste at home -- until she was gifted the Nespresso VertuoPlus Coffee and Espresso Machine by De'Longhi.
With this Nespresso machine, you can make a regular cup of coffee or an espresso shot, which can then be used to create a latte, cappuccino, and more -- all at the touch of a button while keeping the flavor of the real thing a barista would make.

Ortiz says the machine has been one of the best additions to her kitchen, and that it would make an excellent gift this holiday season. The best part is that the machine is $70 off on Amazon for October Prime Day. This brings the cost down to $129 compared to its usual $199 price tag.
Ortiz says this machine is "the gift that keeps on giving," because it helps her save money on buying coffee out. Instead of spending up to $7 (or more) on a drink every morning at a coffee shop, you can have your beverage of choice on command whenever you want -- for the cost of a pod, which starts at around $1.

This specific model is also convenient because it has a swiveling water tank, making it easier to find a place for the gadget in your kitchen. It's not as bulky as other machines, too. The tank holds 60 ounces of water, enabling you to make around 12 cups of coffee at 5 ounces each or 7 cups at 7.7 ounces each before refilling the tank.
Last year, ZDNET's David Gewirtz got the machine himself. Since then, he has become an avid fan, using the machine regularly to brew some mid-day pick-me-up cups or treat himself to a quality cup of coffee.

Whether you want to upgrade your coffee game for yourself or gift someone a better coffee experience at this price, the Nespresso VertuoPlus Coffee and Espresso Machine by De'Longhi is a great buy.

How I rated this deal
Last year during Black Friday, this sold for 30% off. This year's 36% off savings is one of the best prices we've seen in several years. According to CamelCamelCamel, this machine sold for a low of $85 back in 2019, but this $129 is one of the lowest prices since. This info grants it a 4/5 Editor's deal rating per ZDNET's rating system. Plus, coffee is always a good idea, and if you've been eyeing this model, I'd scoop it up. It's possible it could be on sale again for Black Friday, and potentially for less, but I don't foresee it dropping below $100 based on price trends.
