Apple is now rolling out public beta 2 updates for its various software platforms, including tvOS 26.1 and more.
Upcoming software releases now available in public beta 2
Last month, Apple shipped brand new OS versions across its full lineup of platforms. Those releases included iOS 26, macOS Tahoe, and more.
Now, the first major updates to those releases are in the works, and available in public beta.
Current public betas include:
iOS 26.1
iPadOS 26.1
macOS Tahoe 26.1
watchOS 26.1
tvOS 26.1
HomePod 26.1
Apple does not currently offer a public beta for Vision Pro.
Yesterday brought new developer betas for these updates, and now the public beta versions have arrived.
Highlights so far seem focused on iPhone and iPad, which saw changes in beta 2 like Slide Over’s return and a new ‘Slide to stop’ gesture for alarms and timers.
For releases like tvOS 26.1, HomePod 26.1, and watchOS 26.1, however, new features seem minimal.
Apple might have some surprises up its sleeve though—at least for a couple platforms.
That’s because these updates are expected to ship to all users around the end of the month. Do you know what else is rumored to launch around that time? A new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini.
It’s very possible, then, that Apple has new features coming in tvOS 26.1 and HomePod 26.1 that will stay hidden until those new products are revealed.
