Severance, Foundation, For All Mankind, Silo, if there’s one thing Apple TV+ does incredibly well, it’s sci-fi. But, as great as all of those shows are, one thing they don’t have is Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Gilligan has now left the world of Walter White and pivoted back to a genre he knows all too well. His latest show has been incredibly mysterious for a long time, with only a few teases here and there, but today Apple just released the best one yet.
The show is called Pluribus, and it stars Rhea Seehorn, best known for her turn in Better Call Saul. If you don’t know what the show is about yet, watch this teaser, and see if you can figure it out.
So Pluribus is set in a world where everyone is happy. How? Why? We don’t know. But the show follows the one person in the world who isn’t happy, and it will be her job to save the world from happiness.
To get in the Gilligan game, Apple gave the show a two-season pickup before a frame was filmed, and now, finally, it’s coming. The first two episodes debut on November 7, with new episodes dropping every Friday after that through December 26. Basically, we’ll be spending the holiday season with Pluribus.
Everything about this show has us incredibly excited to see it. Of course, there’s the Vince Gilligan of it. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul rule, of course, but he also was a major creative force on a little show called *checks notes* The X-Files before creating its spinoff, The Lone Gunmen.
Then there’s Seehorn, who, somehow, never won an Emmy for her stunning work on Better Call Saul. And, finally, there’s this just fascinating and ripe premise. How did everyone become happy? Why is the President of the United States talking to this woman on TV? And what the heck is it all going to mean?
Luckily, we don’t have to wait long to find out. Again, Pluribus begins in just under a month, on November 7. Here’s the full poster, which we cropped at the top.
