TL;DR Vivo’s newly launched OriginOS 6 skin for global users has a fun lock screen wallpaper feature called Flip Cards.
This feature lets you tilt your phone to smoothly switch between one of several pre-selected lock screen wallpapers.
Flip Cards also comes after Xiaomi introduced its fun Dynamic Wallpapers feature earlier this year.
It seems like all the major Android phone manufacturers are paying attention to lock screen customization once again, and vivo is no exception. In fact, the company’s latest Android skin has one particular lock screen trick that I’d like to see on phones from other brands.

Vivo’s Origin OS 6 Android skin is coming to global users, and it has a neat Flip Card lock screen wallpaper feature. This lets you set a small collection of wallpapers that you can switch through by simply tilting your phone. Check out the video below.
You can add between two and four wallpapers per Flip Card combination, while also choosing one of four transition animations. I quite like the fact that you can pause mid-transition, as seen in the clip above. Vivo also lets you quickly re-order the images, in case you’d like a specific order or a specific wallpaper to be the cover image.
It’s not a big addition to smartphones, but I still appreciate it as it injects some fun into the lock screen experience. And it’s a cool way to spruce up your phone, especially if you find it difficult to choose just one background. In saying so, I would’ve liked to see this on the home screen too. Then again, I imagine that the combo of an app drawer, widgets, folders, and Flip Cards would make for a visually busy, potentially power-hungry experience.
Vivo isn’t the only company offering some fun wallpaper tricks. Xiaomi introduced a nifty AI Dynamic Wallpaper feature earlier this year, which uses AI to add motion into your wallpapers. For example, your photo of the ocean will receive rippling waves.
In any event, the OriginOS 6 beta is now available for global users. The beta program is restricted to the X200 Pro and the Iqoo 13 right now. So you can give it a download if you’re keen to try out the Flip Cards feature.
