In recent years, Apple has stopped including power adapters with products for environmental reasons. iPads and MacBooks still include power adapters in the US, but not with certain models in the EU and UK. Today’s new M5 MacBook Pro does not include a power adapter in the box when purchased in the UK or EU countries due to “Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment” rules. This rule already affected Apple’s previous iPad Air and iPad Pro releases. For now, it only affects the M5 MacBook Pro. M4 Pro and M4 Max MacBook Pro hardware still includes 70W and 96W USB-C power adapters. M4 MacBook Air hardware also still includes 30W and 35W USB-C power adapters. When each version gets updated with M5 versions, however, we can expect the charging brick to no longer be included in the box.
