Are you a Vision Pro early adopter looking to upgrade to the new M5 model? While trade-in is a common option for other Apple products, the company unfortunately doesn’t offer trade-in when buying its new Vision Pro. M5 Vision Pro upgraders will need to find another way to offload Apple’s first model Apple’s M5 Vision Pro was just announced, with several iterative improvements over the previous M2 version. If you’ve been on the fence about buying a Vision Pro, there’s likely nothing with the M5 model that will push you to make a purchase. But if you already own and love the original Vision Pro model, using it heavily in your everyday life and work, you might be wondering what an M5 upgrade will cost. The new M5 Vision Pro has the same $3,499 starting price as the M2 model. Trading in the original model should in theory bring that price down. But if you want to do so, you’ll have to look somewhere besides Apple. Unlike nearly every other product Apple sells, the company does not currently offer an option to trade in the original Vision Pro. This means anyone looking to upgrade to the M5 version will need to sell their original Vision Pro through a third-party vendor like eBay, or else find a friend or family member who’s interested. It’s unfortunate that Apple isn’t providing its most avid Vision Pro fans a first-party trade-in option. Especially because the company could perhaps benefit from offering refurbished Vision Pro models at a discount. In any case, the number of users impacted is probably pretty minimal. But if you are someone who would consider trading in your Vision Pro for a new M5 model, we’d love to hear from you. Would you consider trading in your Vision Pro for the M5 version?
