The new Apple Vision Pro (M5) isn’t fully compatible with the original Developer Strap, which features a USB-C port to simplify development. However, Apple may be preparing an updated version, based on some code and an asset included in today’s betas. Here are the details.

When Apple launched the first Apple Vision Pro, the company also released a developer strap meant to “accelerate the development of graphics-intensive apps and games,” per the company’s description.
The $299 accessory is only available to registered developers the Apple Developer website, and it replaces the Right Audio Strap that comes with the Vision Pro.
However, according to code found in today’s developer beta, the current strap won’t be fully compatible with the new Apple Vision Pro (M5), which will be launched on Wednesday, October 22.
9to5Mac reviewed the new code, which includes strings such as Limited Developer Strap Connected , and The Developer Strap attached to Apple Vision Pro is not fully supported; functionality may be limited .

While it’s unclear what limitations exist between the first and second Developer Straps when used with the Apple Vision Pro (M5), Apple is presumably clarify this once the new accessory is released.
Last year, Apple launched the Developer Strap on the same day that the Apple Vision Pro hit the shelves. As noted by AppleInsider, the current strap is unavailable, with sales scheduled to resume on October 22, the same day the new Apple Vision Pro launches.
