Apple TV has its fair share of strong thrillers, but one of my all-time favorites is easily Hijack, starring Idris Elba. And Apple has just announced the release date for Hijack season 2.
Hijack season 2 coming to Apple TV in January
Apple TV continues to lean heavily into the thriller genre. The Last Frontier is currently airing, Down Cemetery Road from the Slow Horses author is almost here, and presumably The Savant will premiere some time soon.
Add to those Hijack season 2, with Idris Elba returning in the follow-up to 2023’s hit series.
Hijack’s first season occurred in real time, similar to the popular early 2000’s series 24. Its seven episodes took place over the course of a 7-hour flight from Dubai to London where the plane gets—you guessed it—hijacked.
Hijack season 2 premieres Wednesday, January 14 on Apple TV with its first episode, followed by weekly releases.
Here’s the first teaser for the train-set new season, as posted on X:
I loved Hijack’s first season, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun binge. I’m curious to see if the second season can feel fresh and unique without losing the strengths of the first.
You can watch the full first season of Hijack here on Apple TV.
