Gary Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb in season 5 of Slow Horses. Apple TV
Slow Horses is a good show. No, it's better than good; It's downright riveting. I suppose that shouldn't come as a surprise, considering the accolades it's received. Then there's Gary Oldman's involvement. This is the first TV series the Oscar-winner has starred in, and he's (big surprise) absolutely fantastic in it.
The spy thriller is inspired by Mick Herron's Slough House book, which centers around the crew of Slough House, a dumping ground for MI5 rejects. Oldman plays Jackson Lamb, their calculated yet disheveled and uncouth leader.
In case you haven't caught on yet, this is no James Bond. That's what makes the show so good.

Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Hugo Weaving, Rosalind Eleazar and Joanna Scanlan star alongside Oldman. The crew has already finished shooting the next season, which is set for a 2026 release. In other words, the Apple TV program shows no sign of slowing down.

How to watch 'Slow Horses' with a VPN
If you're traveling abroad and want to keep up with your favorite Apple TV shows while away from home, a VPN can help enhance your privacy and security when streaming. It encrypts your traffic and prevents your internet service provider from throttling your speeds, and it can also be helpful when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks while traveling, adding an extra layer of protection for your devices and logins.
VPNs are legal in many countries, including the US and Canada, and can be used for legitimate purposes such as improving online privacy and security. However, some streaming services may have policies restricting VPN usage to access region-specific content. If you're considering a VPN for streaming, check the platform's terms of service to ensure compliance.
If you choose to use a VPN, follow the provider's installation instructions, ensuring you're connected securely and in compliance with applicable laws and service agreements. Some streaming platforms may block access when a VPN is detected, so verifying if your streaming subscription allows VPN usage is crucial.
