Reports indicate that Apple is planning to expand its lineup of Home products substantially in the year ahead, including a couple launches we’re expecting imminently. Here are five new Apple Home products rumored for the coming year.
New Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2
Any day now, we’re expecting the next Apple product launches to include two Home products: Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini.
Rumors for the new Apple TV 4K indicate it will:
pack an A17 Pro chip, up from the current A15 Bionic
offer Apple Intelligence support
feature the N1 wireless chip Apple recently debuted
possibly include a built-in camera
As for the HomePod mini 2, expected features include:
new chip to replace the current S5
improved audio quality
new colors, including possibly red
support for Apple Intelligence and the new Siri
upgraded ultra-wideband chip
and the N1 chip
Although these two products are simply updates to existing hardware, the three other rumored launches for the year ahead all represent brand new product offerings.
HomePod Touch or ‘HomePad’
The long-rumored HomePod with a screen was originally expected to launch this March, but when Siri’s AI upgrades got delayed, Apple pushed back the new product too. We’re now expecting a March or April 2026 debut.
Though the product name is unknown, ‘HomePad’ once seemed possible, but now ‘HomePod Touch’ appears more likely.
HomePod Touch will include a 7-inch mostly square display and run brand new homeOS software.
homeOS will feature pre-installed system apps like Safari, Music, Notes, Calendar, Photos, Reminders, and more.
Widgets will be a central feature, similar to the iPhone’s StandBy capability when wireless charging.
And Siri’s new AI powers driven by App Intents are expected to be a tentpole draw.
Mark Gurman recently said the product could cost near $350 and come in two versions: one that includes a speaker base, while the other is designed to attach to walls and other flat surfaces.
Security camera and video doorbell
Finally, Apple reportedly has two new smart home accessories launching in 2026.
Per Bloomberg:
Security camera: “in-home, privacy centric security camera” Video doorbell: “Face ID-driven digital doorbell”
These two new products will usher a notable shift in how Apple approaches the smart home.
While previously it was largely content to let third parties create HomeKit accessories, now it seems Apple plans to compete with its own products.
Writing about Apple’s security camera, Mark Gurman says:
The device has facial recognition and infrared sensors to determine who is in a room. Apple believes users will place cameras throughout their home to help with automation. That could mean turning lights off when someone leaves a room or automatically playing music liked by a particular family member.
Gurman has also reported that the video doorbell could include an integration with third-party smart locks. It’s also possible the company will include its own smart lock, or partner with one specific company.
