Update, October 29, 10:11 p.m. ET: The AMA has been postponed “to next month,” with a new date to be announced soon. The original post follows below.
The Apple Music subreddit has announced an AMA with Adam Silver, who has led the platform’s product development for nearly a decade. Here’s how to join in.
An opportunity to discuss recent Apple Music features
As the post notes, Silver has overseen features such as AutoMix, Lyrics Translation & Pronunciation, Music Pins, and Sing with iPhone Mic for the last 7 years.
He’ll be taking questions on October 30 at 2:15 p.m. ET. In his official invitation, Silver wrote:
“Hey there! A bit about me: I’ve been at Apple Music for 7 years, focusing on our core experience. It’s a huge responsibility, and I feel incredibly lucky to work on a product I’m deeply passionate about. This last release was a thrill to deliver, and I’m eager to hear what you think and answer any questions.Feel free to ask me about this release, how any of the features work, how we think about product development, or anything else that’s on your mind. I’ll do my best to tell you what I know, or refer you to the folks who know best.”
Even though we are a little less than a couple of days away from the AMA session, the post already has well over 400 comments, so if you’ve got a burning Apple Music-related question on your own, you might want to head over there sooner rather than later.
Given his description of what to expect from the Reddit AMA, Silver likely won’t respond to tech support requests or aggressive criticisms of the platform. But if you’re curious about how some of its recent features came to be, this will be your chance to hear about it straight from the source.
Apple Music requires an active subscription. You can sign up for $10.99 per month, with 1 month free.
