Meta is introducing two more features designed to give Threads users more control over the conversations that happen around their posts. Here’s what’s new. Reply approvals Earlier this year, Threads rolled out a feature that lets users hide replies from their profile, in addition to an automatic filter that hides offensive, misleading, or spammy replies. Starting today, Threads will expand on this feature, allowing users to review and approve replies before they appear publicly on their posts, or ignore them. In this case, they will be moved to the Ignored tab, in case the user decides to approve them later. Here’s Meta on the new feature: “With reply approvals, you can choose which replies appear publicly on your posts before anyone else sees them. This means you can monitor conversation around your posts and keep discussions on-topic. You can turn on approvals for individual posts and review replies at your own pace.” The setting can be turned on from the same section that lets the user choose who can reply and quote that post, as seen in the image below: Activity feed filters Threads is also officially rolling out to all users two new filters in the Activity tab: Mentions, and People you follow, to make it easier to “surface the replies you care about most and focus on the discussions you’re interested in.” They will get added to the current All, Follows, Conversations, Reposts, and Verified filters, as displayed below: Meta says the company is listening to user feedback to keep improving Threads, and you can read more about today’s announcements in the company’s official blog post.
