The Mandarin is one of Iron Man’s oldest foes, with a history in the comics as long as it is fraught. But while the character has been adapted multiple times over the course of the MCU—first more controversially with Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery character in Iron Man 3, then as Tony Leung’s Xu Wenwu in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings—and earned himself a few action figures from Hasbro inspired by those appearances along the way, the toymaker has yet to bring a comics version of the villain to figure form. Until now, that is. io9 has your first exclusive look at a new Marvel Legends two-pack releasing later this year, inspired by Iron Man’s “Extremis” arc in the comics. Alongside Tony in his Extremis Armor (itself an updated re-release of the figure Hasbro put out in 2023, and now with an extra unhelmeted Tony Stark head), the set will mark the first time Hasbro has ever made a comics-inspired version of the Mandarin in the Marvel Legends line. Both Slattery and Wenwu received MCU figures inspired by their roles in their respective films, but a comics-inspired Mandarin hasn’t appeared in the Marvel Legends line since 2006, when it was still produced by Toybiz. Hasbro Marvel Legends Iron Man (Extremis) and Marvel’s Mandarin Two-Pack Gallery Inspired by his return during the Iron Man: Director of SHIELD era of Invincible Iron Man back in 2007, the new Marvel Legends Mandarin includes magical effects pieces to reflect the powers of the ten rings, as well as an alternate aged head and hands. Aside from the new unhelmeted head, Iron Man comes with two repulsor blast effects and a set of alternate hands to attach them in to. The Marvel Legends Extremis Iron Man and Mandarin two-pack is set to hit shelves this fall for $50, and will be available to preorder tomorrow, August 19, at 1 PM ET exclusively on Amazon.
