Bottleneck Gallery and artist Kevin Wilson will soon release a truly beautiful set of Star Wars posters that feature Rey’s three unforgettable Sith showdowns in all their glory. There’s her first battle with Kylo Ren at the end of The Force Awakens, the start of her showdown with Snoke in The Last Jedi, and the final encounter with her dear old pappy Palpatine in The Rise of Skywalker. Each is prettier than the last, and they make us think back to a simpler time.
Before we get to that, though, here’s the set in all its glory. They’ll be available on Tuesday, August 19, at noon ET at bottleneckgallery.com in two editions. One has the title treatments, and the others are art prints without the titles. The set with the title treatment is a run of 125 and costs $130, and the non-title versions are an edition of 50 and cost $145. Each print measures 12 x 24 inches. Here they are.
Looking at these pieces, we can’t help but think back to the run-up to each of these movies. A time when we were all desperate for any information, and we overanalyzed every single frame of every single promotional material. Clearly, each of these scenes is from either the ending or a major turning point of these movies, so the scenes wouldn’t really be featured in any of that. But imagine they were. What would we have thought seeing Rey with a lightsaber showing down with Kylo? Of Snoke Force-choking Rey and drawing her to him? Of Rey blocking Force lightning from Emperor Palpatine with two lightsabers, for crying out loud? It’s just kind of cool that now, almost 10 years and counting from the release of The Force Awakens, we can openly discuss and buy art of these moments.
Again, these Star Wars sequel trilogy sets by Kevin Wilson go on sale Tuesday, August 19, at noon ET at bottleneckgallery.com. Which is your favorite?
