Apple is on the cusp of its major launch season, with new hardware coming in nearly every product category. But rumors indicate there will be one glaring omission from these fall launches: the Mac. The Mac might be the only Apple product line with no new hardware this fall September kicks off a busy season for Apple hardware announcements. We’re expecting an iPhone event in early September—likely September 9. That event will launch the iPhone 17 line, new Apple Watch models, AirPods Pro 3, and more. Overall, it currently looks like 13 new products could launch this fall. Do you notice what’s missing? The Mac is conspicuously absent. Apple is going to ship new hardware across all of its various product categories—except one. An M5 MacBook Pro is in the works, but recent reporting indicates it’s been pushed into early 2026. There’s a new Mac Pro overdue too. Despite the recent hint of an M4 Ultra coming to the Mac Pro, Bloomberg’s latest fall launch preview made no mention of any Mac. I can’t recall the last time Apple had such a diverse lineup of product launches. New iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, and iPad models aren’t unusual. But launching a new Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini, AirTag, and Vision Pro all at the same time sure is. Thus, making the Mac’s absence stand out more than it otherwise might. Fortunately, Mac users shouldn’t have to wait too much longer for new hardware. Reporting indicates early 2026 will bring not only the M5 MacBook Pro, but an M5 MacBook Air as well.
