Activision will sunset updates for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile

Activision announced that it will sunset updates for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile because it hasn’t met expectations with mobile-first players.
It’s a surprising outcome in some ways, as Call of Duty: Mobile was a spectacular success on mobile back in the day, generating more than 500 million downloads. It was developed by Tencent’s mobile game division, TiMi Studio Group. That game is still going.
But Warzone Mobile was Activision’s own in-house project to make a game based on the PC/console game, Call of Duty: Warzone, which was launched in 2020 as a battle royale game. Warzone has been very successful on the console/PC, and it recently relaunched its original Verdansk map to bring back more players.
But Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, the mobile battle royale game, will no longer be available for download after Sunday, May 18, 2025, from the Google Play store and Apple App Store. Players can still play but new players will not be joining and Activision will not be making new season
