Apple drops a spot on 2025 Fortune 500 list

The 2025 edition of the Fortune 500 is out, and Apple once again ranked near the top, while Walmart and Amazon remained firmly planted in first and second place, respectively, for the sixth straight year. Alphabet, meanwhile, was the most profitable company in the top 10. Landing in 4th place in this year’s Fortune 500 list, Apple has stayed pretty consistent over the past decade. Since 2016, the company has alternated between third and fourth, trading spots with UnitedHealth Group, Exxon Mobil, and Berkshire Hathaway. That trend continued this year, with UnitedHealth narrowly overtaking Apple to claim third. Walmart, meanwhile, held onto the crown for the 13th consecutive year, followed by Amazon, which has commanded the second place since 2020 and remains the only other tech-driven company consistently in the top three.
