Worried About Boosting Your Protein? Experts Say You Already Have Enough

You might be thinking about your protein intake for National Protein Day. Maybe you're even considering ways you can increase how much you're eating. But hang on a second. According to experts, you may already get all (or more than enough) the protein you need in your daily diet. This is probably making you question everything you're seeing on social media, where "protein goals" has become a hot topic.
Similar to counting calories, the protein goals trend has gotten out of hand, causing people to buy expensive protein bars, shakes and slabs of meat all in the name of more protein. According to Dr. Andrew Freeman, a cardiologist at National Jewish Health in Denver, it's actually "extremely uncommon" if not "nearly impossible" to be deficient in protein, at least in the US, where there's an abundance of food.
