Apple’s big WWDC keynote is next Monday, where it will unveil major new software updates like iOS 26, macOS 26, and more. According to one recent report, however, this year’s keynote might not be quite as jam-packed as we’re used to. Here’s why we should all expect a little less from WWDC next week.
Apple will reportedly focus on features ‘it knows for sure’ will launch this fall
Mark Gurman provided an overview of what to expect from WWDC earlier this week.
One detail that stood out has implications for the quantity of announcements expected.
After outlining several in-the-works iOS 26 projects, Gurman writes:
Apple could always give a preview of future technologies at WWDC, but it will be more cautious about doing that this year…the company is prioritizing announcing features that it knows for sure will launch in the fall.
