Apple has released iOS 26.0.1 with several bug fixes.
The updates are designed to fix several feature flaws and one security bug.
Apple also updated iPadOS, MacOS, WatchOS, TVOS, and VisionOS.
Hello, iPhone users. Yes, that friendly greeting means it's update time again. Unveiled a couple of weeks ago, Apple's iOS 26 has received its first interim update designed to repair key feature flaws and one security bug. Released on Monday, the 26.0.1 update should be installed whether or not you've run into any outstanding issues.
First up, iOS 26.0.1 addresses a Wi-Fi glitch affecting some iPhone 17 units. Several owners of the new phones reported that their Wi-Fi would cut out and then reconnect after being unlocked. The problem also affected connectivity with CarPlay. Some people said the issue was related to the Apple Watch, while others pointed to a conflict with a VPN. Whatever the cause, Apple has apparently fixed the flaw.

Another bug that's been resolved is one in which some iPhone users were unable to connect to a cellular network after running the iOS 26 update.
Next on the list, some iPhone 17 owners found that photos taken under certain lighting conditions would display unexpected and unwanted artifacts. With the new update, your photos should be free of such artifacts.
Here's a bug that I've noticed. When adding a custom tint to the Home screen, some of the app icons would appear blank. After I updated my iPhone, this no longer seems to be a problem.

And here's one more feature bug that's been squashed. The VoiceOver option, which reads aloud to you items you tap on the screen, would stop working for some users who updated to iOS 26.
On the security front, iOS 26.0.1 patches a flaw in Apple's FontParser framework, which reads and interprets fonts. Exploiting this flaw, an attacker could create a maliciously crafted font designed to corrupt memory or crash an application.
How to install the update
To update your iPhone, head to Settings, select General, and then tap Software Update. Allow the latest update to download and install.
Of course, iOS isn't the only recipient of bug-fixing updates.
For the iPad, iPadOS 26.0.1 also resolves the VoiceOver flaw but addresses another issue in which the floating keyboard could switch its position unexpectedly. Plus, the update patches the FontParser bug.

On the Mac, MacOS Tahoe 26.0.1 patches a flaw that prevented some owners of the Mac Studio M3 Ultra edition from jumping to MacOS 26. And there's also the fix for the FontParser vulnerability.
Then there are more general updates for the rest of the pack. For Apple Watch owners, WatchOS 26.0.2 is the latest version. That's because Apple already pushed out version 26.0.1 exclusively for the Apple Watch Ultra 3. Apple TV owners get TVOS 26.0.1, while Vision Pro users should update to VisionOS 26.0.1.
An interim update that only addresses known problems is expected at this point. The millions of people who install a major new OS update are invariably going to bump into bugs not previously caught. The next new iOS version will likely be iOS 26.1, which is currently in public beta testing. Based on the schedule of previous years, this update should arrive around the end of October.
