‘A testament to how belief in oneself can manifest into reality’

Beats is out with a new campaign, “Dare to Dream,” which stars a digitally de-aged version of American rapper Travis Scott (rather than a double), a recreation of his actual childhood bedroom, an iPhone 4, and even his real mother, Wanda Webster.

In the ad, which takes place on March 5, 2011, a young Beats Studio-wearing Scott falls asleep after an intense creative session on his iMac.

Before being woken up by his mother telling him to go to school, he dreams of packed arenas, blinding lights, roaring crowds, and pyrotechnics, all of which are now hallmarks of his live performances.

That’s when he picks up his iPhone 4, and tweets out his now-famous post, saying, “ONE DAY TRAVIS SCOTT WILL BE SOMEBODY“.

The ad ends with a confused Scott pulling a Powerbeats Fit case out of his jacket pocket, placing the Powerbeats Fit earbuds firmly in his ears, and walking away.

Here’s Scott on his new collaboration with Beats:

“This film isn’t just about where I came from — it’s about the vision I had before anyone else could see it. (…) Beats has been a part of that story since the beginning.”
