Tell us a little bit about this virus and how it effects the human body. Emily Mullin: Yeah. Well, we felt the need to write this story because we're seeing a lot of misinformation on social media coming from conservative and anti-vaccine accounts that are really downplaying the severity of the virus and promoting false claims, such as the child in Texas died of other causes. We wanted to be very clear in this story about the dangers of measles and this is not just a rash. Everybody thinks of the characteristic rash that comes along with measles, and that actually usually comes after the first signs, which is usually a fever, runny nose, that kind of thing.
