The Next Major Star Wars Game Will Be at Star Wars Celebration

Since 2015, Star Wars has gotten a major video game from a triple-A developer on a fairly regular basis. Most of them have been from EA, and the publisher’s ready to unveil its next title for PC and consoles. Star Wars Celebration will have a panel on Saturday, April 19 promising to reveal a the debut game from developer Bit Reactor and produced by Respawn Entertainment. The project was first teased in 2022, and all we’ve known about it is it’ll have turn-based tactics. Bit Reactor is made up of developers at Firaxis, who made XCOM and Marvel’s Midnight Suns, which were turn-based and pretty good, so it’s got a good pedigree behind it. This’ll also be the franchise’s first big foray into the tactics/strategy genre since 2006’s Empire at War, which makes it even more interesting. Bad news, though: it looks like this’ll be the only game to be featured at Star Wars Celebration, since nothing else is listed on the schedule.
