The First Toxic Avenger Footage Is Perfectly Gross and Offensive

It’s not quite a teaser trailer and it’s not quite safe for work, but the first footage from The Toxic Avenger is here and for those reasons, it’s also kind of perfect. This half-fake commercial, half-film footage clip definitely tells you little about the upcoming movie but sets a very specific tone and vibe that will probably let you know if it’s for you or not. Based on the 1984 film of the same name by Lloyd Kaufman and the team at Troma, The Toxic Avenger finally oozes its way into theaters on August 29. The marketing is slowly starting to ramp up and after images of Toxie himself were released, now we have this footage. Which, again, is NSFW. We saw The Toxic Avenger back in 2023 and, to our best recollection, the commercial footage at the start here is not in the movie. Everything else though, from the shooting onward, is in the movie.
