4 GIMP 3.0 upgrades I'm loving as a power user - and how to try it for free

ZDNET GIMP 3.0 has finally arrived. This latest release has been a long time in the making, and it is a massive improvement over the 2.x iteration of the software. There are, however, some key additions that have greatly improved GIMP. What's new in GIMP 3.0? For me, though, it's not about one feature over another; it's about the comprehensiveness of this release. All of a sudden, GIMP seems more serious, like it's better aligned to compete with Photoshop, and that's been a real sticking point for this open-source image editor.
