What Will Vin Diesel’s New Fast and Furious Short Film Be About?

Vin Diesel loves his Instagram. He really does. On any given morning, he’ll type out a nice long message to his 100-plus million followers and just say some wild shit. Like there’s a Groot movie coming. Or, he’s been asked to direct a Fast and Furious short film as a prequel to the 11th and final Fast and Furious movie. That second one happened Wednesday and holds a bit more weight to it. You see, back in 2009, Diesel directed Los Bandoleros, a canon short film set before the events of the fourth film, Fast and Furious. It’s actually pretty good! And now, according to Diesel, he’s doing a similar thing in the run-up to Fast Eleven aka Fast X Part 2. “I am reminded of that critical moment in the Fast franchise, where we had just wrapped the fourth film,” Diesel wrote. “The studio asked me to direct the precursor to the film, to explain where Dom had been in between the first and the fourth film.
