Amazon MGM Studios head Jennifer Salke steps down

Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon MGM Studios, is stepping down from her role and will instead focus on producing, according to an internal memo obtained by Deadline. In the memo, Mike Hopkins, Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios head, tells employees that the company will not fill Salke’s role as part of efforts to “flatten our leadership structure.”
Salke joined Amazon in 2018 after serving as president of NBC Entertainment for several years. She helped build up Prime Video’s lineup with shows and movies like the pricey Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the hit series Fallout, and the MrBeast-led reality TV show Beast Games. Courtenay Valenti, head of film, and Vernon Sanders, head of TV, will now report directly to Hopkins, the memo says.
