Today, Threads announced a new batch of analytics upgrades as part of its push to let creators better understand how their posts are doing on and off the platform. Here’s what’s new. Threads continues its push to win over creators Up until now, Threads’ Insights offered basic metrics like views, replies, new followers, and external links performance, along with a weekly recap and some light engagement tips. Starting today, the platform will offer a broader set of analytics tools so creators can better understand what sorts of content resonates with their followers and even off-platform. First up, is a broader set of Insights and Followers metrics: Dive deeper: You can now tap metrics within the Insights dashboard for more detailed information. For example, tapping the Interactions section shows engagement by likes, replies, quotes and reposts, while tapping the Followers section shows follower growth with geographic data, including top cities and countries, and demographic information like age range and gender. Next, the app is making it easier to understand how your posts perform over time: Compare performance over time: You can see how your post performance has changed through a new chart that uses data about views and interactions to help you identify trends in your content for a seven to 90-day period. And lastly, if your posts are shown on Meta’s other platforms, the app will let you know how it did: See where content was discovered: You can also see the places where people encounter your content, including on other apps. As a creator on Threads, eligible posts of yours can be recommended to people on Instagram and Facebook, extending your reach beyond the app. The new analytics features are rolling out now, and come as part of a recent set of announcements made just in time for the app’s second anniversary, including standalone DMs and mute words, and a dedicated fediverse feed.
