The Bondsman: How to Watch Blumhouse's New Southern-Fried Horror Comedy

The Bondsman follows Hub Halloran (played by Kevin Bacon), a down-on-his-luck bail bondsman who gets a second chance at life after a brutal attack. The only problem is that to stay alive on Earth, he has to hunt down demons who escaped hell. His boss? The devil. I think any normal person would probably be a bit freaked out by this predicament. Still, for Halloran, it's just one more inconvenience he has to add to his list of daily responsibilities. I spoke with Bacon over Zoom about the role, and he acknowledged that personality trait as the hook that sold him on the character. "He's a problem solver," he said. "He's going to figure out a way to get out of this; find some demons to kill, and figure out a way to kill them so he can keep one foot in front of the other. When I first read the pilot, that just gave me a hook into how to play the character and an idea about where the humor in this show could lie."
