Apple TV+ has a teen problem, even as iPhone dominates

Apple TV+ has been finding more mainstream success of late, fueled by the popularity of hits like Severance and The Studio. But there’s one demographic that, per a new survey, is not tuned in to TV+: teens.
Only 1% of US teens are regular Apple TV+ viewers, per survey
Today Piper Sandler published its 49th semi-annual survey of teens in the US on a variety of topics.
Over 6,000 teens were polled on their preferences and usage habits with technology, entertainment, food, clothing, and more.
Unsurprisingly, iPhone adoption remains high in the US: a whopping 88% currently own iPhones.
But what’s a bit more surprising is how few teens are watching Apple TV+.
Only 1% of teens said that Apple TV+ is a regular part of their daily video consumption.
That compares to 31% viewership for Netflix and 26% for YouTube.
Daily viewership is a high bar, but the 1% number still seems remarkably low—especially when contrasted with how many teens use iPhones.
