The US measles outbreak has continued to spread, and now according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 22 states have reported cases. The outbreak in West Texas continues to be the largest outbreak, and a second child has died from the disease. Measles outbreaks have been confirmed in Texas, Ohio, New Mexico and Kansas, with more than 600 cases so far.
Cases aren't just appearing where outbreaks have been confirmed. There are also reported cases in Alaska, California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York City, New York State, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont and Washington, according to the CDC. So far in 2025, there have been three confirmed outbreaks, and more than 500 cases have been linked to them.
