PC gamers report hackers have taken over Star Wars Battlefront II

Facepalm: Hackers have been a persistent problem in the PC version of Star Wars Battlefront II for years, but a recent wave of attacks has rendered some of the online shooter's modes completely unplayable. EA is reportedly working on a fix, but players have been waiting for days with no public response from the company.
The subreddit and official support forums for Star Wars Battlefront II are currently filled with complaints about a hack that has broken some parts of the game for all players. Some users report that every server for 40-player modes such as Supremacy and Galactic Assault is now inaccessible.
Hackers have apparently deployed a script that prevents players from spawning in affected servers, leaving all matches empty. Earlier versions of the hack were only active while attackers were logged in, allowing players to enjoy the game during certain hours. However, the updated script now locks out all legitimate players indefinitely.
