Bethesda shadow-drops Oblivion Remastered on a Tuesday

The long-rumored Oblivion remaster has finally arrived, as Bethesda both officially revealed and launched the game within the same day. The new version of the classic RPG has a “modern look and refined suite of features and updates,” according to the publisher. It’s currently available to play on PC (via Steam and the Xbox app), Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, and is also on Xbox Game Pass. This new Oblivion features all of the content from the original game, including the Knights of Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. In addition to a cosmetic makeover via Unreal Engine 5, it’s also added new gameplay features to, by Bethesda’s own admission, bring it up to par with modern RPGs. These include a new leveling system, a refined UI, new dialogue to better delineate different races and factions, as well as the ability to sprint.
