Jason Citron is stepping down as CEO of Discord and he has hired game veteran Humam Sakhnini as the new CEO. When the folks at Discord asked me if I wanted to do an exclusive interview Citron about his decision to step down, it was a full circle moment for me. I was shocked to hear that Citron was going to leave the helm of the communications platform company, which has been rumored to be in the pipeline to go public at a value of billions of dollars. I knew Citron when he was Open Feint, a company he sold in 2011 for $104 million to Gree. He sold that company while in his 20s, and you could say that he might have sold it too early.
