Google Photos could soon save you from downloading photos one-by-one (Update: Rolling out)

This feature was present on the web version of Google Photos, but not on the Android app. Currently in development in the Android app, the feature will skip already-downloaded files and provide progress notifications. Update, April 23, 2025 (1:49 PM ET): Well that didn’t take very long! Normally we spot Google developers working on the framework for new features long before they’re even remotely ready to go live, but other times Google flips the script on us. Mere hours after sharing news with you of Photos preparing this multi-photo download tool, we’re beginning to see it roll out publicly.
