While movie theaters are thriving—what with all the vampires, chicken jockeys, and revival hits—sometimes it’s all too tempting to stay home and see what’s new on Netflix. The streamer recently unveiled its summer movie slate, and we’ve picked out the sci-fi, fantasy, and horror titles to add to your “to-watch” calendar. May 23 – Fear Street: Prom Queen Thought Fear Street was just a trilogy? Hope you saved a dance for this new installment, which returns to Shadyside High circa 1988 for more mean girls, misfits, and mysterious disappearances. Matt Palmer directs and the cast includes India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, Chris Klein, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, and Ariana Greenblatt, with Lili Taylor and Katherine Waterston.
